What is Low-Level Laser Therapy?
Cold Laser Therapy (LLLT) utilizes specific laser frequencies and wavelengths to stimulate the cells’ mitochondria to produce more Adenosine Tri-phosphate (ATP) (energy), the fuel that cells use to produce DNA and RNA, repair damage, and produce collagen. As cells regenerate, pain subsides, scars heal, and mobility increases.
Laser therapy can have some incredible benefits, including increased endorphin levels, faster injury recovery, reduced inflammation/pain, increased cellular energy, increased tissue strength, improved circulation and to restore a cell back to its resonating vibrative harmony.
How does the BioHealer work?
The BioHealer laser should be placed directly over the affected area for ~30 seconds to several minutes, depending on the size of area or severity of condition being treated. During the treatment, the non-thermal photons of light that are emitted from the lasers pass through the skin layers (the dermis, epidermis, and the subcutaneous tissue or tissue fat under the skin). The BioHealer uses quality pulsing undiffused 5mW laser diodes (i.e. BH2/3 635/650nm & BH4 650nm). The laser wavelengths have the ability to penetrate 1 to 2cm below the skin layer. Once the laser light energy passes through the layers of skin and reaches the target area, it is absorbed and interacts with the light sensitive elements (i.e. Mitochondria) within the cell. This process is similar to photosynthesis in plants (sunlight is absorbed by plants, which is then converted to usable energy so that the plant can grow).
When skin cells absorb the light energy, it initiates a series of events in the cell that eventually results in normalizing damaged or injured tissue, a reduction in pain, inflammation, edema and an overall reduction in healing time by increasing intracellular metabolism.
What controls the BioHealer?
The BioHealer BH2/3/4 contains a high-performance, low-power Atmel 8-bit microcontroller with the capability to output a Pulse Width Modulation at various known healing frequencies in (Hz) which help restore the resonating vibrative harmony back into cells which light wavelength alone can’t do. The Microcontroller is preprogrammed with Nogier/Bahr/Reininger & Rife healing frequencies known to help with the following conditions below. It’s been proven that Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is more effective in healing with devices that use both the proper light wavelength (nm) and pulsing frequency (Hz) which the BioHealer includes using it’s integrated microprocessor PWM design with embedded Nogier/Bahr/Reininger & Rife software modes.
Constant wavelength (CW) lasers basically just relax and sedate cells for temporary pain relief. BioHealer usage:
When the BioHealer is turned on, it will randomly alternate between a low frequency range of 4-30Hz followed by a random higher frequency in the Nogier/Bahr/Reininger & Rife healing range from 4-30kHz. Every 15 seconds the unit will sweep a random Nogier/Bahr/Reininger or Rife set of healing frequencies. The laser should be placed over the affected area just above, but not touching skin layer since skin oils can damage the laser lens when the laser is on.

The BioHealer unit will automatically turn off after approximately 10 minutes of therapy which is indicated when the unit pulses at 2Hz for 3 seconds before turning off. After the therapy cycle ends, lasers will be pulsed in sleep mode every 4 seconds warning user to turn off BioHealer unit. The unit can be power cycled again to start a new therapy cycle if desired.
BioHealer eye protection and safety:
Lasers should NEVER be pointed directly into the eyes. Also avoid looking at the reflection of the beam on skin for long periods of time! Prolonged exposition of the retina to laser light may result in temporary or permanent damage to your vision. You can protect your eyes with inexpensive laser safety glasses available on amazon/ebay for less then $10. The safety eyewear must filter out a red laser range of ~635-650nm wavelength to be effective. All types of Jewelry must be removed from the therapy area to prevent direct reflection on metal.
Is cold laser therapy safe?
Yes. Laser therapy is a drug-free, non invasive alternative therapy. In many cases it provides superior pain management and accelerated healing ability to conventional treatment. Use the following guidelines when using the cold laser for precautionary reasons:
• Never shine the laser directly into the eye and use laser safety glasses for eye protection.
• Do not use cold lasers on any neoplastic tissue (tumors, cancers or abnormal tissue).
• Not recommended to use cold laser on any undefined or undiagnosed condition.
• Pregnant patients should refrain from laser therapy applied directly on the abdomen.
• No treatment if the patient is using photo-sensitive or immunosuppressant drugs.

What to expect when using the BioHealer:
The BioHealer uses dependable non-medical grade lasers that last up to ~5000hrs. Dr. Manfred Reininger, Austria, Vice President of the largest Austrian acupuncture society (OGKA), was the first who detected the frequencies of the acupuncture meridians. Dr. Royal Rife is considered to be the father of frequency medicine. He described frequency in diseased and healthy organs and established many frequencies for various diseases and disorders. Human Body Meridians & Acupoints:
Body meridians are invisible channels of energy, each with a beginning and end, and each flowing in a specific direction that transport life energy throughout the body. Along the channel are specific acupoints, or “holes”, which allow access to the meridian. There are 12 major meridians, one for each organ, and 2 channels on the front and back midline of the body.
Meridians conduct energy and move blood between the surface of the body and the internal organs. Each point has a different effect on the energy that passes through it. When one part of the body develops an over supply of energy, another part of the body will be deficient in energy. When there is a blockage of energy flow, disease occurs.
Meridian blockages are usually a result of stress, injury, trauma or bad living habits (e.g. lack of exercise, diets and habits/additions) and can be traced to the root of all health problems.
By applying the BioHealer to a single or multiple acupoint “hole” on the meridian channel for ~30sec to 1min, energetic energy blockages can be removed, restoring the free flow of energy to meridian and its corresponding organ. Therefore, regulating and balancing the natural flow of qi energy.

It’s been discovered that light applied to a meridian end-point can actually be traced flowing through the meridian to the organ acupuncture points. Therefore, the meridian system is a useful pathway for getting light deeper into the body, so if you are treating things like asthma in the lungs, there is an alternate method of getting light into the lungs via the meridian end points.
The BH4 unit is designed specifically for acupuncture or acupoint therapy because it uses pulsing dot vs. line lasers. The BH2/3 is designed for more localized pain/injury in a wider area because it uses line lasers, but will work just fine for acupoint therapy as well. The BH4 is designed to focus more energy into a single meridian point “hole” which works more effectively when treating blocked meridian points that might be causing meridian imbalances.

The Meridian Clock and General Circulation of Energy:
The Meridian Clock explains what Meridian is most active at certain times of the day/night. It’s helpful to pin-point deficient or over-active meridian function that might be caused by an energy blockage within the meridian pathway. Qi energy blockages can be removed by using laser acupoints on the meridian channel in question. BioHealer battery replacement:
To replace weak batteries, carefully unscrew the bigger bottom section of the device, slide out old weak batteries and replace with new ones. The batteries should always be inserted so the + battery polarity faces up towards the laser top. After new batteries have been inserted correctly, carefully screw the bottom section back on evenly to avoid cross threading and damaging the plastic threads. Avoid over tightening the bottom section as well since it only needs to be snug. Using alkaline (i.e. Duracell) type batteries will prolong the usage life of the device which is approximately ~114hrs on the BH2 and ~70hrs on the BH3/4 devices.
